CL50 / Steel for plastic processing applications

CL50 is a hot-working tool steel 1.2709 (UHF 3), which originated in the light metal casting industry where its premium mechanical strength at both low and elevated temperatures offer advantages.

Because it is an alloy with a high percentage of Nickel (18% Ni.) which provides corrosion resistance, it is very well suited for conformal cooling channels and cooling surfaces with fine diameter/details. The material can be hardened up to 52-54HRC which results in impressive mechanical strength up to 1900 N/mm²
